| 2009 Pinot Noir Black Paw |
| submitted by: David Lawrason |
Year after year Black Paw is among Niagara’s top pinots, and remarkably different from neighbouring Red Paw. This is a pale, tender pinot with a very fine, complex nose of cran-raspberry fruit, gentle hazelnut cream, smoke, cocoa and herbs. Quite mindful of some Prince Edward County pinots. It's light to mid-weight, light and quite silky but loaded with sour red currant fruit and herbs on the finish. Excellent length. Now to 2014.
