Michael Pinkus
Michael Pinkus (Grape Guy) has had a 20-year love affair with wine.
In early 2005, he decided to leave a career in radio (writing and
broadcasting) and combined his love for writing with his passion for
wine to become the head-writer and all around Grape Guy for
OntarioWineReview. His mission was to forge out and bring Ontario
wines into a more positive light, not just for fellow Ontarians, but
for Canadians and other wine lovers the world over. Through his
writing, it is his desire to educate, inspire and encourage others
to grow their own love and enthusiasm for wine. His reviews and
recommendations about Ontario wines and wineries are insightful,
heartfelt, passionate and appealing and have won him a loyal
readership in Ontario and worldwide. It is not unusual to find
Michael touring around the wine regions of Ontario, hanging out at
local events or checking out other winemaking areas. His unique take
on the wine world around him can enhance your enjoyment of wine with
family and friends, and will put you in the know.
As the head-writer OntarioWineReview.com Michael publishes a
bi-weekly newsletter full of informative reviews and articles about
the Ontario wine scene. He has also given seminars at various events
such as the Lake Erie North Shore International Wine Festival and
the London Wine and Food Show. You can also catch his On the Road
with the Grape Guy blog – in which he reviews events he attends and
his Vintages Report blog – where he reviews the current offering
from the LCBO Vintages catalogue. Finally, Michael also hosts a
weekly wine review podcast (accessible through his website) –
combining his love for wine with his love of his own voice.
