Christopher Waters is managing editor of Vines, where he has worked since its first issue (Nov. 1998). An arts reporter and wine columnist at The Standard, a daily newspaper based in St. Catharines, and co-author of both editions of Vines Buyer's Guide to Canadian Wine, Waters has worked as a journalist since graduating from the University of St. Jerome's College (University of Waterloo) in 1991.
His articles have appeared in Flare, Shift, Wine Escape, Exclaim!, The National Post, The Montreal Gazette, The Ottawa Citizen, The Halifax Daily News and a host of other daily newspapers and urban weeklies across the country. His second book, Vines Buyer's Guide to Canadian Wine (co-authored with Walter Sendzik) was published in November 2002 by Vancouver's WhiteCap Books.
An international wine judge and guest lecturer, Waters presents a series of educational wine seminars around his native Niagara and serves as guest host of Linda Bramble's Food and Wine Show on CHSC 1220 AM.
Canada's largest wine magazine, Vines, publishes six issues a year with a nation-wide circulation of 20,000 copies. His weekly column, Waters on Wine runs in The Standard's Saturday edition, which boasts more than 120,000 readers in Niagara.
