Government Regulations
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario regulates the wineries' sale and distribution of their products in Ontario. It has certain rules that apply to the sale and delivery of wine, most notably the requirement that alcohol can only be delivered to a person 19 years of age or older, who is not intoxicated. Therefore, the delivery agent is obligated to ensure your majority (two photo IDs are needed, if the agent requests confirmation) and obtain your signature before handing over the order.
Delivery Methods
Canada Post Xpresspost
Canada Post can reach more locations in Ontario more economically than any other delivery service, which is why we selected it to handle most of the shipments on behalf of our winery partners. Although there are a few remote communities that are difficult for us to reach, we can deliver almost everywhere else in Ontario. Even if you live in a rural area, or a region serviced by neighbourhood mailboxes, it is likely we can deliver to you, just make sure to use your mailing address. Because you must sign for your WineryToHome.com order and prove you are 19 years of age or older, Canada Post will handle your shipment as it normally does when you receive mail that requires a signature. (Registered mail, for example.) If you're unsure how Canada Post will deliver the package to you, you can call their toll-free number for information – 1-800-267-1177.
Direct Delivery

Delivery Pricing
Our delivery prices are dependent on whether the order is to be delivered by Canada Post, or via our Direct Delivery service.
Canada Post
For all orders, there is a minimum delivery charge of $9.00 for the first 1-3 items/bottles. 4-6 bottles cost $11, 7-12 cost $21, 13-18 cost $32, plus $11 for every additional 6 bottles. You'll see the actual charges before you checkout.
After the first case (of 6 bottles), each additional bottle costs $1. For delivery regions outside the Greater Toronto Area, an incremental delivery surcharge is applied, based on where you live. Should you choose to order from more than one winery, a surcharge of $4 is applied, allowing you to order from up to 2 different wineries. To order shipments from more than 2 wineries only requires that you place separate orders.

Direct Delivery is available for any order, at the cost of $25 for the first

6 or 12 bottles will be $25, the charge for 24 bottles will be $30, and the charge for

About Our Packaging
WineryToHome.com worked closely with Canada Post and a major North American packaging manufacturer to design packaging that will ensure your wine orders arrive safely at your door. We even went to the mail plant floor and talked with the people who will handle your packages! We asked for their feedback on our preliminary package designs, and they made several suggestions we incorporated into the containers we now use. Canada Post has tested our designs, and they stood up to far more abuse than any shipment will ever receive. We have seen their plant operations first hand, and Canada Post personnel take pride in the care with which fragile Xpresspost shipments are handled. In the unlikely event your order is damaged in transit, we will happily make restitution at no cost to you. Back to top
Environmental Concerns
WineryToHome.com is conscientious about the environmental impact of its operations. For this reason, we use corrugated cardboard for the bulk of our packaging, and a minimal amount of additional cushioning material. Corrugated cardboard is a renewable resource, and industry-wide, less than 13% of corrugated material is actually made from logs. For our packaging supplier, the majority of their linerboard is 100% recycled material, consisting of 70% post-consumer corrugated waste, and 30% recovered, post-industrial paper waste.
